Treatment & Recovery Court Supervisor - Northern Region

Job Summary: Maine Pretrial Services, Inc. (MPS) will commit its resources to agency SupervisorsCase Manager(s). MPS will provide education, orientation, training, and expertise regarding Treatment Recovery Court case management services to Case Manager(s).

The supervisor shall have knowledge of criminal justice issues and shall commit to best practices for case management. The case manager’ssupervisors’ duties are as follows.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· Supervises, supports, trains, and supports field staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Uphold the agency’s mission by being committedcommitting to providing case management, supportive services, and resource connection to individuals involved in civil and criminal legal systems in the state of Maine.

· Strive to embrace innovation and integrity while recognizing legal and evidence-based practices to address the evolving needs of Maine’s criminal justice system effectively and efficiently.

· Adhere to the All Rise (Formerly NADCP) National Association of Drug Court Professionals (NADCP) best practice standards of treatment and recovery court services and the Ten Key Components

· Obtain certification through the agency’s drug and alcohol testing provider within one month of employment.

· Participate in the development of and attend all agency staff meetings.

· Attend all appropriate criminal justice meetings and participate in appropriate sub-committees.

· Network with other agencies and providers of services necessary to the provision of pretrial services, treatment and recovery courts and sentencing alternative programs.

· Report weekly to TRC Program Manager Executive Director and/or the Management Team as directed.

· Collaborate with local domestic violence projects and participate in Violence Intervention Partnership.

· Provide weekly supervision to staff and/or as frequent as needed including observation of precourt, court sessions and client check inscheck-ins.

· Maintain documentation of staff supervision.

· Review and audit of the electronic case files and the management information system on a regular basis.

· Maintain regular contact with the Court teams to ensure fidelity of case management services.

· Identify training needs and provide training to case managers as needed.

· Attend training specific to the treatment and recovery courts specifically regarding evidence-based practices.

· Maintain working knowledge of the management information systems used within the courts.

· Coordinate and provide coverage for staff as needed.

· Conduct case reviews with staff on a regular and as needed basis.

· Perform random drug/alcohol screens on clients and report results.

· Attend county supervision and other agency meetings as required.

· Reduce recidivism by collaborating effectively with community-based resources for treatment, education, employment, and housing.

· Address criminogenic factors in the criminal justice population by embracing legal and evidence-based practices such as motivational interviewing, objective risk assessment, and referral to evidence-based treatment interventions for all defendants eligible for supervision.

· Assist and aid TRC program manager in data querying and reporting as part of contract requirements, grant management and overall quality assurance.

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s Degree

· Bachelor’s degree in a related file or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

· Demonstrated three to five years career experience in related the field.

Physical Requirements:

· This position is situated in an office environment.

· Regularly required to sit, walk, bend, and stand.

· Travel within the norther region of the state of Maine (Aroostook, Penobscot, Hancock, and Washington counties) up to 60%

· Sitting 75%, Standing 10%, Walking 10%, Bending 5%

· Expected to effectively communicate in person, on phone, via email, and other

electronic devices on a continual and repetitive basis.

Pay: $62,400.00 per year
