Maine Oxy is currently looking to hire a District Manager for our NY and PA region to lead and direct the Territory Sales Managers in meeting and exceeding sales revenue, sales profitability, and budgetary objectives. Success is achieved through strategic planning, people management of the team, selling, and continuously improving processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the company’s sales and business development functions with responsibility for improving quality and sustainability of growth
- Develop and execute annual sales plan detailing specific strategies, tactics, timelines, owners and KPIs across channels to achieve company’s financial targets
- Develop staffing plans and sales quotas required to achieve annual plan and company’s financial targets
- Direct the management of costs for all sales activities to stay at or below the annual department budgets or within adjusted set targets
- Instill a high-performance culture by attracting, retaining and developing a team with strong teamwork, change management and cross-functional leadership skills
- Develop and instill a culture driven on performance with keen focus on continuous improvement in the sales process
- Strategize to recommend directional sales shifts as new opportunities present themselves
- Develop and implement programs to optimize sales force capabilities and selling results including procedures, strategies, account management programs and tools as well as skills enhancement
- Oversees the sales distribution to meet company financial goals by managing the establishment of sales territory boundaries, sales quotas, sales projections and expense budgets
- Anticipate and react quickly to trends and changes in performance
- Assist with sales negotiations, conduct sales presentations and help close sales deals
- Works with marketing department to develop programs to increase sales and profitability
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- A track record of achieving profitable sales growth is required.
- A reputation for strong leadership skills and the capability of developing and managing a team of experienced sales professionals with a strong emphasis on customer excellence and customer-focused results is required.
- Ability to analyze a business opportunity, and develop a successful sales strategy to acquire new business.
- Demonstrated knowledge of business and accounting concepts including but not limited to Return on Investment (ROI), Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, balance sheets, interest and leasing calculations, and margin responsibilities.
- Tough-minded, take charge change agent who challenges the status quo and acts with a sense of urgency
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others and to create cross-functional alignment.
- Must possess excellent communication skills, especially in the development of actions plans and to ensure accountability and follow through.
- Ability to make highly effective oral and written presentations and proposals to all levels of management.
- Daily travel within the District is required (75% of the time).
- Minimal overnight travel.
- Must have reliable, appropriate transportation.
Education:
- Four-year college degree from an accredited institution in Business, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Sales Management, Engineering, or related field. or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of increasing responsibility in a business-to-business (B2B) sales-related or sales operations position to include prior experience managing a team and a P&L or comparable experience within the distribution industry involving gases and welding supplies or similar industrial products.
