Maine Oxy is looking to fill a Class A Driver with a Hazmat Endorsement position in the Naugatuck, CT area to deliver in Upstate New York.

This position is responsible for:
Our Class A Driver (w/Hazmat) will act as a shuttle driver transporting Helium compressed gas cylinders to deliver to customers on scheduled route, returning with empty cylinders. A typical work week is Monday through Friday, with overtime opportunities (including weekends) during peak season (January through June). This position will typically drive overnights 3-4 nights a week, depending on the delivery area being covered.
- Working in the warehouse organizing products.
- Maintaining load manifests, vehicle documents and a logbook.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs pre and post trip vehicle inspections, documenting deficiencies and ensures all safety items are in good working order.
- Safely delivers Helium cylinders to customers; returns empty cylinders to fill plant.
- Fill helium cylinders at the plant and assist in loading and unloading trailers as needed.
- Maintains Haz Mat load manifests and all other vehicle documents, ensuring they are properly completed and balanced with truck counts and shipping documents before and after all deliveries.
- Establishes and maintains good customer relations by communicating in person with customers.
- Identifies and monitors customer needs and works with them to maintain proper cylinder levels to minimize or eliminate emergency deliveries.
- Operates a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.
- Ensure all safety rules are strictly observed.
- Complies with all DOT and OSHA regulations.
- Maintains appropriate drivers’ license and endorsements.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year driving experience or driving school training in the past 4 years
- CDL A License with HazMat.

- Ability to perform very heavy work—routinely lift 25lbs to 75lbs, and occasionally lift 76lbs to greater than 100lbs.
- Must be able to work outdoors in temperatures ranging from -10 to over 100 degrees.
- Ability to smell/hear leaking gas from cylinders.
