The Maine Democratic Party (MDP) is looking for Field Organizers for this year’s
Coordinated Campaign to execute daily voter outreach to help defeat Susan Collins,
elect a Democratic Governor, keep ME-2 in Democratic hands, and assist legislative
victories across the ballot this November. This includes knocking on doors,
phonebanking, and engaging community members about the stakes of the 2026
elections. No prior political or campaign experience is required—applicants from all
backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
About the Role
This is an opportunity to be on the front lines of one of the most important fights in
the country this year. Coordinated Campaign Field Organizers will be responsible for
talking directly to voters every day—by phone and at the doors. You'll be part of a
hardworking, passionate team fighting for working Maine families by working in the
field across your assigned region. This job is ideal for someone with great people
skills, a strong work ethic, and a passion for making a difference in their community.
This position reports to one of the MDP’s Regional Organizing Directors and is a
full-time hourly position at 55 hours a week through the second week of November
2026.
These positions are based in Maine and require daily in-person voter contact,
including knocking doors and attending local events in your assigned region.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily direct voter contact through door-to-door canvassing and
- Meet daily and weekly voter contact and volunteer recruitment goals for
conversations and data tracking.
- Represent the campaign in your community and serve as the face of our
- Enter data promptly and accurately after each voter interaction in-line
leadership.
- Work closely with the Field Director, your Regional Organizer and other
organizers to share updates and collaborate on regional strategy.
- Travel frequently within your assigned county and occasionally to nearby
- Assist with events, visibility, and GOTV efforts as the election
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for talking with people.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to the values of the Democratic Party and fighting for
- Willingness to work weekends.
- You have access to a cell phone, laptop, reliable transportation, and
- Previous campaign, organizing, or community experience is a plus,
- Must be able to work in-person within the assigned region

This is a full-time, temporary position through November 2026, paid at
$19/hour, with overtime eligibility. This position includes a full benefits
package and is part of the Maine Democratic Party’s Coordinated Campaign
bargaining unit, represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical
Workers Local #1837.
