Responsibilities: EMCC seeks applications from experienced professionals in the Admissions field to fill a crucial role in a fast-paced, high-volume department that's critical to student success. This position reports directly to the Vice President and Dean of Students and serves as the primary administrator responsible for Admission and Recruitment activities, including the oversight and approval of organizing and planning recruiting schedules, trips, and events, as well as maintaining an online and social networking presence (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, EMCC website) with accepted and potential students. This person is responsible for maintaining hours for walk-ins and on-campus and virtual appointments for prospective and admitted students; oversight of applicant file review and making admission decisions; determining the admissions communication flow; and directly managing the admissions counselors. Meets and collaborates with the Dean of Academic Affairs and program faculty on all aspects of the admission process. Responsible for creating a strategy and implementation to reach identified annual goals (applications, credits, program/degree). Administering the CRM module of the college's SIS (student information system), currently Anthology Reach.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience in college admissions or recruitment work from an accredited college or university. One to three years of progressive responsibility in higher education. (Equivalent experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis).
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience in planning and organization (2-4 years)
- Experience of hiring, training, and supervising staff (2-4 years)
- Computer knowledge and skills, including Admissions CRM (Anthology Reach), along with desktop publishing, Student Information System, ZOOM, and online programs (2-4 years)
- Strong public relations/human relations skills
- Ability to work with a wide range of public audiences
- Knowledge and experience in counseling and advising students (2-4 years)
- Knowledge and experience in Federal financial aid eligibility requirements
- FERPA confidentiality laws
- Foundational understanding of statistics and strategic goal planning
- Budget oversight
- Valid Driver’s License with the ability to obtain a Maine License
