About this role
We’re looking for an exceptional Veterinary Technician Manager, someone who brings either an RVT license or years of proven leadership in veterinary medicine. This is not just another job. Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Oversight
- Supervise and support shift leads, lead trainer, as well as the entirety of the Assistant/Tech team.
- Provide direct leadership to the assistant/technician team through the shift leads.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and support career development.
- Approve timecards, monitor attendance, and address attendance issues.
- Lead monthly team meetings and coordinate wet/dry labs for continued education.
Training & Compliance
- Shadow team members periodically to ensure adherence to Main Street policies and patient care standards.
- Provide coaching and retraining opportunities as needed.
- Ensure all team members are trained and competent in anesthesia, patient handling, diagnostics, and hospital protocols.
- Partner with veterinarians to resolve lab issues and document support calls.
- Ensure anesthesia logs, controlled drug logs, and training records are maintained accurately and securely.
Clinical & Operational Support
- Act as a liaison between the technician team and doctors, addressing questions and filtering concerns through the chain of command.
- Provide hands-on patient care, anesthesia, and surgical support as needed.
- Build and maintain the technician department schedule to meet hospital needs.
- Support the surgical department, ensuring caseload efficiency and adherence to anesthesia and surgical standards.
Administration & Coordination
- Collaborate with the Practice Manager and Medical Director to uphold hospital standards of care.
- Participate in leadership meetings, representing the technician team and contributing to hospital-wide initiatives.
- Coordinate with other managers to ensure efficient cross-department operations.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, , and state regulations.
