What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Health Care Technician position at Main Street Nursery?
The Plant Health Care Technician’s main responsibility is to manage the Trees and shrubs of the client’s properties. The Plant Health Care Technician position requires attention to detail and ability to communicate any issues or concerns to the supervisor and client. The Plant Healthcare Technician must also be in constant contact with the Supervisor concerning condition of the plant care equipment. A Daily schedule is set, and the Plant Healthcare Technician is responsible for completing the schedule in a timely manner.
Essential Functions:

· Apply fertilizers and pesticides to trees & shrubs according to schedule, safety procedures, and label instructions
· Drive company vehicle to customer locations
· Respond professionally and on a timely basis to customer requests for telephone and in-person service calls
· Complete required production forms and provide customers with clear plant care instructions
· Assist in sales to current customers through contact on route
· Perform a daily three-minute, 360-degree inspection of truck and equipment before taking the vehicle out on the road and upon return
· Complete production reports, daily vehicle inspection report, and cancel/skip notices as required daily
· Maintain vehicle and equipment through cleanliness, safety, and general maintenance
· Strict adherence to the company's employee manual & procedures as required by all employees
Job Requirements:
· Clean driving record
· Ability to see details at close range
· Comfortable operating various types of horticultural equipment
· Positive attitude and willingness to work on a team
Required Education and Competencies:
· Basic knowledge of tree biology & soil science
· Ability to diagnose problems such as pests & diseases
· Possess a working knowledge of plant maintenance
· Must be able to organize, plan and prioritize work
· High school degree or GED preferred
· ISA Certification preferred, but not required
· DEC Technician license preferred, but not required
Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
