Job Summary
Responsible for conducting day-to-day operations including all facets of property management while meeting organizational mission and goals. Reports information on a daily basis to Executive Director or enters it into database so that all information is accurate and accountable. Performs home inspections, oversees and requests maintenance and rehabilitation associated with MSH owned properties. Identifies potential tenants, evaluates tenant or property needs, and manages tenant relations. Coordinates daily operations and projects with limited supervision.
Responsibilities
Property Management:
- Performs property inspections on a monthly basis.;
- Executes and refines procedures for inspections and maintenance;
Tenant Relations:
- Oversees the marketing and selection of prospective tenants for vacancies.
- Manage tenant issues during term of occupancy, including: leasing, inspections, termination procedures and oversees inter-tenant relationships on situations with multiple tenants at one property address as a representative of MSH;
Administrative:
- Reports all daily updates to Operations Coordinator and enters maintenance reports and tenants or property changes in database
- Participate in meetings, organize activities of the Tenant Council, respond to information requests.
- Identify and recommend to Director opportunities to reduce operating expense and/or generate additional income; and all other tasks as may be required.
- General knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Basic knowledge of property leasing process and property management principles.
- Ability to interface with community organizations, including contractors, housing authorities, local and state funding resources.
- Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple tasks and establish priorities.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.
- Preference for experience in a property management or leasing.
- Preferred knowledge of the Public Mental Health System in Maryland.
- Ability to travel between properties as needed.
- Ability to perform physical tasks (unit inspections, walking properties, occasional lifting, and some limited maintenance duties).
- Evening or weekend availability occasionally required.
- Applicant must be a current or former recipient of mental health services.
