Art Gallery Manager (Part-Time – 30 Hours/Week)
Established contemporary folk art gallery located in the beautiful Northeast Georgia mountains seeks an experienced and enthusiastic Gallery Manager to join our team. Our gallery has proudly served collectors and visitors for more than 40 years and welcomes a strong seasonal tourist clientele, especially during the vibrant Fall leaf season.
We are looking for an organized, creative, personable professional who can help continue our tradition of exceptional customer experience and thoughtful presentation of contemporary folk art.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily gallery operations
- Provide excellent customer service and cultivate relationships with collectors and visitors
- Converse knowledgeably and confidently about art and artists
- Assist customers with artwork selection and sales
- Create engaging window displays and attractive interior merchandising presentations
- Maintain inventory records and sales tracking using Excel
- Edit and prepare images using Adobe Photoshop
- Oversee and coordinate part-time staff
- Assist with gallery events, openings, and seasonal promotions
- Contribute written content for marketing materials, artist information, and customer communications
Qualifications
- Retail management or gallery experience required
- Background in art, art history, studio art, or related field required
- Strong knowledge of and interest in contemporary folk art preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities
- Creative visual merchandising skills
- Professional, personable, and customer-focused demeanor
- Ability to thrive during busy tourist seasons
Position Details
- Part-time position: approximately 30 hours per week
- Weekend availability required
· Compensation: $32,000–$42,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
