Position Description: Program Manager
Main Street Fairmont seeks an energetic, organized, and community-minded individual to serve as Program Manager, who under the direction of the Executive Director, will implement strategies and programs to revitalize and improve the economy of Downtown Fairmont. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously, enjoys working with the public, and is passionate about strengthening Downtown Fairmont through community engagement and economic development.
Essential Duties*
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of Main Street Fairmont's annual calendar of community events, including vendor recruitment and management, volunteer coordination, event logistics, and day-of-event operations.
- Perform the administrative functions of a successful non-profit with the assistance of other professionals and volunteer staff, including but not limited to basic accounting functions, office organization, and record-keeping, preparation of reports as needed by the Executive Director and/or the Board of Directors
- Lead the creation and implementation of marketing campaigns, social media content, email communications, and promotional materials.
- Assist with fundraising activities, sponsorship fulfillment, and grant reporting as assigned.
- Form strong working relationships with all persons and groups directly or indirectly involved in the downtown commercial district, and work in conjunction with these groups to improve the downtown business district and coordinate fundraising efforts.
- Assist the Executive Director with strategic planning, project management, and implementation of annual organizational goals.
- Represent Main Street Fairmont professionally at meetings, events, and community functions.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Degrees in business administration, marketing, communications, public relations, public administration, nonprofit management, event management, or a related field are preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proven team-building capabilities are essential.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: event planning and management, vendor coordination, marketing, public relations, nonprofit administration, fundraising, volunteer management, or community engagement.
- Experience managing social media platforms and creating marketing content.
- Familiarity with Canva
- Residency in the greater Fairmont area is preferred, but not required.
Working Hours and Working Conditions
The incumbent will primarily work Monday through Friday in an office setting. However, some after-hours and weekend work may be necessary. The incumbent should be able to lift up to 50 pounds safely or do so with accommodation.
Compensation and Benefits
The position is full-time at 40 hours per week and health, vision, and dental benefits are eligible.
Compensation: $40,000/yr
