What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Services Assistant position at Main Salvation Army?
OVERVIEW:
The Social Services Assistant will help with the operations of the social services department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet & assist clients visiting
- Oversee volunteers
- Organize catering and refreshment needs for meetings
- Assist with Corps programs
- Drive to pick up donations
- Coordinate the food pantry distribution
- Coordinate the Diaper program distribution
- Collect data for statistics
- Assist the unhouse clients with their mail
- Assist with our dinner program
- Other related duties as required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- CA Driver's license (required)
- Experience in data entry (preferred)
- ServSafe food handling certificate (within first fourteen days of employment – company provided)
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Bilingual in Spanish (preferred)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Programs
- Ability to work with diverse populations
- Team player
EQUIPMENT USED:
- Modern Office Equipment and Relevant Software
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
