Responsibilities
- Prepare and cut various types of meats, including beef, pork, poultry, and fish, using proper butchery techniques and slicing methods
- Operate meat processing machines safely and efficiently to ensure consistent quality and portioning
- Trim and portion meats according to specifications, maintaining high standards for visual appeal and freshness
- Conduct visual inspections for quality control, ensuring all products meet safety and quality standards
- Package meat products securely for retail display or customer take-home use while adhering to food safety sanitizing procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations and equipment in compliance with food safety management protocols
- Assist customers with their selections by providing knowledgeable advice on meat cuts, preparation tips, and cooking methods
Skills
- Proven experience in food production, food preparation, or retail store environments with a focus on meat handling
