Esperanza Cyber Charter School (ECCS) located in North Philadelphia is currently accepting applications for a Gifted Education Teacher for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year.

 

Esperanza Cyber Charter School Mission

Esperanza Cyber Charter School (ECCS) prepares students in grades Kindergarten through 12 to meet the challenges of living creatively and productively in an increasingly technologically sophisticated and interconnected world. ECCS will provide students with an academically rigorous, yet flexible, online learning program that tailors learning experiences to each child through a combination of curriculum choices and virtual and in-person tutoring and counseling. Students will explore career directions that coincide with their interests and strengths beginning at the earliest ages, and will begin “majors” in particular career areas starting with the middle grades. ECCS is targeted toward underserved and at-risk students who have not always found success in traditional schools. ECCS places students on a pathway to post-secondary success. 

Job Overview:
The Gifted Education Teacher provides direct instruction, enrichment, and learning support to identified gifted and high-ability students in the school environment. The role promotes advanced academic growth, creative and critical thinking, and individualized learning opportunities so that students can reach their fullest potential.

Qualifications:

  • Pennsylvania teaching certification in Elementary Education and/or appropriate content area

  • Pennsylvania teaching certification as a Program Specialist , Gifted Education (or willingness to obtain)

Responsibilities:

  • Plans, prepares, and delivers differentiated instruction, enrichment opportunities, and advanced learning experiences for gifted and high-ability students.

  • Collaborates regularly with classroom and content-area teachers to develop and implement appropriate enrichment, acceleration, and extension activities.

  • Assesses students’ academic and social-emotional needs and adjusts instruction, grouping, and services accordingly.

  • Conducts and supports gifted screening, evaluations, and data collection in accordance with district and state guidelines.

  • Completes required training and administers assessments and tools related to gifted identification and progress monitoring.

  • Builds strong relationships with students’ families, including conducting parent interviews, communicating progress, and participating in conferences.

  • Creates a classroom physical or virtual that fosters creativity, inquiry, independence, and a positive learning environment.

  • Maintains gifted student files, Gifted Written Reports (GWRs), and Gifted Individualized Education Plans (GIEPs) in compliance with state regulations.

  • Integrates technology effectively to enhance advanced learning and support individualized pathways.

  • Collaborates with school leaders to analyze student data and develop or refine gifted programming.

  • Evaluates student progress toward GIEP goals and provides quarterly progress reports.

  • Attends GIEP meetings and other meetings required for evaluation, planning, or compliance with federal or state law.

  • All applicants must have current FBI fingerprints, PA Criminal Background Check, Child Abuse Clearances, and appropriate instructional certification.
