Experienced Security Systems Technician
Pay: $28.00–$35.00 per hour, based on experience
Job Type: Full-time
Location: Newtown Square, Pennsylvania
Work Location: In person at commercial client sites
Main Line Security Solutions is an established commercial security integrator serving clients throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and surrounding states.
We are hiring an experienced Security Systems Technician who can independently install, service, troubleshoot, and maintain commercial security systems. This is not an entry-level position.
Responsibilities
- Install, service, troubleshoot, and maintain access control, video surveillance, intrusion alarm, intercom, and related low-voltage systems
- Diagnose wiring, device, power, network, and communication issues
- Program and configure security equipment and system components
- Install and terminate low-voltage cabling
- Read project scopes, floor plans, wiring diagrams, and device layouts
- Complete service calls with limited supervision
- Document work performed, materials used, system conditions, and recommended repairs
- Communicate professionally with customers, property managers, vendors, and other trades
- Maintain company tools, vehicle, inventory, and job site organization
- Follow company safety, workmanship, and customer-service standards
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience installing and servicing electronic security or low-voltage systems
- Hands-on experience with at least two of the following:
- Access control
- Video surveillance
- Intrusion alarm
- Intercom or telephone-entry systems
- Strong troubleshooting ability
- Experience using electrical meters and low-voltage testing equipment
- Working knowledge of IP networking, including IP addresses, switches, PoE, and basic network troubleshooting
- Ability to terminate and test low-voltage cabling
- Ability to work independently and complete assigned service and installation work
- Ability to accurately document completed work and outstanding issues
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass required background screening
- Ability to safely use ladders, lifts, hand tools, and power tools

- Commercial fire alarm systems
Fire alarm inspection, service, or programming experience is strongly preferred.
Schedule and Travel
The typical schedule is Monday through Friday during normal daytime working hours.
Overtime, occasional nights, emergency service, and limited weekend work may be required depending on customer and project needs.
Regular regional travel to customer locations is required. Occasional overnight travel may be necessary.
