The Development Associate will take ownership of core development operations, including gift processing and database management, while also contributing to donor stewardship, communications, and fundraising initiatives. Responsibilities Include
Gift Processing & Financial Coordination
- Process incoming gifts and generate timely, thoughtful donor acknowledgements
- Manage pledge tracking, including preparing statements and monitoring outstanding balances
- Serve as a key liaison between Development and Finance offices to ensure accurate reporting, reconciliation, and data integrity
- Maintain organized and audit-ready records and systems
- Manage and maintain Veracross (CRM), ensuring data accuracy and completeness
- Update constituent records, relationships, and roles
- Generate reports and dashboards to support annual giving and development strategy
- Identify opportunities to improve data quality and processes
- Conduct prospect research and develop donor profiles and meeting briefs
- Support execution of annual appeals, stewardship communications, and reports
- Assist in planning and executing fundraising and stewardship events
- Conduct donor outreach, including thank-you calls and follow-up communications
- Partner with the Director of Development on special projects and fundraising initiatives
- 2–5 years of professional experience in development, nonprofit operations, database management, or a related field
- Experience with CRM systems required; Veracross preferred
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable engaging with donors and stakeholders
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills
- Commitment to thoughtful donor stewardship and mission-driven work
- Familiarity with the Orthodox Jewish community is a plus, but not required
- Ability to work occasional evenings and Sundays as needed
