We’re currently seeking a full-time Social Worker MSW to provide services to patients with comorbid addiction and psychiatric issues in our Adult Psychiatry department and other areas of the hospital as needed such as the emergency room.
Responsibilities:- Perform intake assessments for patients new to the clinic.
- Provide direct treatment services to patients within the clinic utilizing appropriate modalities including individual therapy, group therapy, and crisis intervention.
- Provide presentations on pertinent clinical topics to trainees and fellow clinicians.
- Participate in interdisciplinary diagnostic and treatment planning conferences, supervision sessions, case presentations, and make recommendations regarding the needs of the patient from a social work perspective.
- Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM (35 hours per week)
- Masters in Social Work from an accredited school of social work.
- Current NYS licensure as a LMSW/LCSW.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in mental health field required.
- Experience, interest and comfort working with adults with comorbid addiction and psychiatric issues in an outpatient psychiatric setting or similar outpatient setting.
- Good interpersonal verbal/written communication skills.
- Bilingual is a plus particularly Spanish/Bengali/Urdu/Arabic.
