Job Title: Tax Senior
Responsibilities:
- Tax Preparation & Compliance: Prepare and review complex tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
- Tax Planning & Strategy: Advise clients on tax-saving strategies, including tax implications of business decisions, mergers, and restructurings.
- Staff Supervision & Development: Assign tasks to junior staff, review their work, provide guidance on technical tax issues, and support their professional growth.
- Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients, addressing inquiries and ensuring timely completion of deliverables. Proactively follow up on outstanding information.
- Coordination with Management: Report to Tax Managers and Partners on engagement status, progress, and key issues. Assist with tax presentations and reports.
- Research & Technical Expertise: Stay up to date with tax laws and regulations. Conduct research to resolve complex tax issues and advise clients accordingly.
Skills and Background:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (24 credits in Accounting required).
- Experience: 3 years in public accounting, with a focus on tax compliance and planning.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with tax software (e.g., CCH Axcess, ProSystem fx) and Excel. QuickBooks experience is a plus.
- Attributes: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines. Excellent communication skills for client and team interaction.
