Responsibilities
- Safely operate different types of delivery vehicles such as box trucks, vans, or personal vehicles to transport mail and packages across designated routes
- Load and unload shipments using manual handling techniques and material handling, adhering to safe lifting practices
- Follow route schedules precisely, ensuring timely deliveries while complying with traffic regulations
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after routes to ensure safety and proper functioning of all equipment
- Maintain accurate delivery logs using mobile devices or other digital tools, documenting all deliveries and pickups clearly
- Interact professionally with customers during deliveries, providing excellent customer service and addressing any questions or concerns
- Adhere to warehouse operations procedures when handling incoming or outgoing shipments in addition to delivery tasks
Skills
- Prior experience in delivery driving or courier roles with a focus on route driving and customer interaction
- Knowledge of commercial driving regulations, safe operation of box trucks, vans, or personal vehicles with manual transmissions where applicable
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely while following manual handling best practices for heavy lifting and moving tasks
- Strong driving skills with adherence to traffic laws and safety protocols at all times
