Summary
This position is a hands-on position and has responsibility to work in the warehouse to ensure the manufacturing and shipping process remains smooth and efficient. To uphold standard high-quality products that meet customer expectations while maintaining compliance with USDA/other applicable regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Daily activities may include but are not limited to, quality assurance, space management, logistics, floor productivity, and shipping.
- Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Manage materials handling and ensure accurate inventory management.
- Load and unload products from trucks and storage areas.
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks as required.
- Ensure the warehouse operates at peak efficiency, by organizing, monitoring, and managing operation goals.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and safety standards.
- Work to prevent process failures. Focuses on continuous improvement of operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilization, and shipping of product.
- Support overall warehouse operations to meet production goals.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator (Stand up-Reach Truck with reverse steering)
- 2 years’ experience in the food industry, warehouse lead or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong knowledge of warehouse distribution processes and materials handling.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety practices.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and effectively.
- Attention to detail in inventory management and order fulfillment.
- Ability to uphold regulatory, company and customer standards.
- May be required to work weekends.
