Postdoc (or Research Staff) opportunity for an experienced researcher to join our Chemical Biology lab. Ideal candidate will have multidisciplinary research skills in molecular biology, cell biology and protein biochemistry.
Start date is flexible, and can start immediately. The Maianti lab is located in the main campus of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, in the Department of Biochemistry, at 1300 Morris Park Ave, Bronx NY 10641, Forchheimer Building in the Jack and Pearl Resnick Campus. You can contribute to one or more of the following project areas:
- Therapeutics research in oncology, autoimmunity and immuno-oncology.
- Work with covalent inhibitors for new biomedical target previously impervious to conventional drug-screening approaches.
- Interrogate millions of small molecules readable by DNA barcodes and investigate bioactive compounds with cell-based mechanistic and functional assays.
- Lead collaborations across Montefiore Einstein and the NY metropolitan area to enable the translation of our findings.
The Ideal Candidate Should Have:
- Above all a strong track-record of creativity, resourcefulness, and impactful publications in at least 3 of these disciplines: protein engineering, enzymology, structural biology, cell biology, molecular biology, and/or bioinformatics.
- A Ph.D. relevant to the project areas and commensurate experience (NOTE: other prior degrees are not eligible for this post).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Collaborative skills and commitment to contribute to multidisciplinary team projects.
- Willingness to learn and share skills by mentoring others, and to consistently lead our research goals toward very ambitious objectives.
