Maintenance Technician
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of facilities and equipment to ensure smooth operations. This role requires a strong background in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and building maintenance, with the ability to work independently or lead maintenance projects. The Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetic quality of our facilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on electrical systems, HVAC units, plumbing, carpentry, and building interior systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment using schematics, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools.
- Conduct welding and mechanical repairs on various machinery and structural components.
- Maintain HVAC systems, including repairs and system upgrades.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools for maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry, plumbing repairs, and equipment servicing.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and maintenance documentation.
- Repair or replace electrical equipment and fixtures as needed.
- Maintain facilities equipment including HVAC systems, plumbing systems, and building interior components.
- Perform maintenance painting to uphold facility appearance standards.
- Lead or assist with maintenance projects ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Document work performed accurately in maintenance logs or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or related field with knowledge of electrical work, plumbing, HVAC system repair, carpentry, welding, and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, electrical equipment repair, and MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) practices.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic instruments effectively.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in building interior maintenance and residential painting is preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently.
- Good communication skills in English for effective teamwork and documentation.
- Leadership qualities are a plus for supervising or mentoring junior staff.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining safety standards.
- Physical capability to perform manual tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds and working at heights or confined spaces as required.
