Company Description
Mahon, Rider, McKay, Bauer & Furst (“Mahon Rider McKay”), one of the Hudson Valley's premiere general practice firms serving the business and professional community, is seeking a junior to mid-level associate to join its dynamic and diverse complex commercial litigation practice groups.
Responsibilities
- Represent clients in complex commercial litigation cases, including direct client contact, conducting and defending depositions, and attending court conferences and oral arguments
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, and motions
- Handle all aspects of appellate filings, including drafting persuasive briefs, reviewing records, and ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines
- Provide strategic legal advice to clients as part of MRM’s outside general counsel services
Qualifications
- 10-15 years of relevant experience
- Active New York license in good standing
- Prior experience in any of the following areas:
· Commercial litigation
· Contract drafting and negotiation
· Arbitrations
- Exceptional research, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to work on and/or manage multiple assignments in a team-oriented environment
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active license in good standing with the New York State Bar (or eligibility for prompt admission).
