SUMMARY
The Test & Validation Technician duties require hands-on installation/removal of automotive A/C compressors and associated instrumentation on test benches in a laboratory environment. The technician must also be competent in diagnosing automotive A/C refrigerant system issues. The job will entail interfacing with engineers to understand test requirements and procedures to effectively perform the requested A/C compressor test conditions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Understand and execute automotive A/C compressor tests efficiently and correctly. Includes test bench setup with appropriate instrumentation, compressor mounting bracket and refrigerant manifold connections for mechanical and electrical A/C compressors.
Become proficient in test bench operation – mechanical/electrical/control systems.
Interface with PC based electronic test request system.
Diagnosis of test compressor/test bench issues.
Performing test bench maintenance.
Open to cross training in various Test Laboratory positions.
Take direction from test area supervisor for daily assignments.
Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
QUALIFICATIONS
Associates Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Technology is preferred
Strong mechanical aptitude/knowledge of automotive A/C refrigerant systems is Desired
Computer skills including Microsoft Office
Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Effective interpersonal skills. Must work and communicate well with co-workers
Good written and oral skills – ability to convey technical concepts
Ability to manage time and effectively work with multiple test benches
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Good results orientation and strong work ethic
Ability to work independently and to apply critical thinking techniques to solve problems
Salary: 55,000-80,000
