About Mahizer
Mahizer Turkish Sweets is an established Turkish dessert brand known for authentic Turkish sweets, coffee, and specialty drink options. After building its identity in Turkey, Mahizer is now expanding into the United States, bringing a true Turkish sweets experience to a new market.
This is the first Mahizer concept of its kind in the U.S., and we are building a brand with serious growth ahead. Our focus is authenticity, quality, consistency, hospitality, and creating a dessert experience that represents Turkish culture at the highest level.
Baklava and traditional Turkish desserts are at the heart of Meyzer, and we are looking for the right person to help lead that standard as we grow.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Master Baklava Ustası / Lead Turkish Pastry Chef with strong experience in authentic Turkish sweets and baklava production.
This role is for someone who understands the craft deeply — from dough preparation and layering to baking, syrup balance, texture, presentation, and consistency. The right candidate will play an important role in helping establish Mahizer's dessert quality and production standards in the U.S.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare authentic baklava and traditional Turkish desserts with precision and consistency
- Manage baklava production, including dough preparation, layering, baking, cutting, and syrup application
- Maintain high standards for taste, texture, appearance, freshness, and presentation
- Support daily production planning and organization
- Train and guide team members on proper dessert preparation techniques
- Maintain cleanliness, food safety, and kitchen organization standards
- Monitor ingredient quality and support inventory needs
- Contribute to improving systems, consistency, and production workflow as the brand grows
Qualifications
- Proven experience making baklava and traditional Turkish or Middle Eastern desserts
- Ability to produce high-quality desserts consistently in a professional environment
- Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and organization
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Leadership or training experience is preferred
- Passion for Turkish sweets, craftsmanship, and authentic quality
