Job Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Automotive Parts Counter Sales Associate to join our team. This role involves assisting customers with their automotive parts needs, managing inventory, and providing exceptional service to ensure customer satisfaction. Experience in dealership settings or automotive repair shops is a plus, along with proficiency in inventory management systems and POS operations.
Duties
- Assist customers in identifying and selecting the correct automotive parts and accessories based on their vehicle needs.
- Provide expert advice on automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, and repair procedures.
- Manage inventory levels through inventory control systems, stock parts accurately, and ensure proper organization of the parts department.
- Process sales transactions efficiently using POS systems, handle cash and credit payments accurately, and maintain proper cash handling procedures.
- Negotiate with customers to meet their needs while achieving sales goals.
- Maintain knowledge of automotive service trends, dealership products, and marketing strategies to enhance sales efforts.
- Support order fulfillment by processing special orders and coordinating with suppliers when necessary.
- Keep the parts counter area clean, organized, and stocked to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel or other organizational tools for inventory tracking and reporting purposes.
- Communicate effectively with customers via phone etiquette and in-person interactions to provide excellent customer service.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets and improve overall store performance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in retail sales, preferably within an automotive dealership or repair shop environment.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, and automotive repair processes.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems (CMMS), POS systems, and retail math principles.
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and customer service expertise.
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve a diverse customer base effectively.
- Organizational skills with attention to detail for inventory control and order fulfillment tasks.
- Ability to negotiate effectively with customers while maintaining professionalism.
- Knowledge of automotive service marketing strategies is a plus.
