Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Body Shop Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will be the key point of contact for customers and insurance adjusters, accurately assessing vehicle damage and preparing comprehensive repair estimates. Your expertise will help streamline repair processes, maximize customer satisfaction, and ensure efficient shop operations.
Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to evaluate collision damage using computer-aided estimating software and automotive diagnostics tools.
- Prepare detailed and accurate repair estimates that include parts, labor, and mechanical repairs such as transmissions, suspension, brake repair, tire service, shocks & struts, oil changes, and more.
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding repair procedures, costs, and timelines to ensure transparency and build trust.
- Collaborate with technicians and service managers to coordinate repairs and prioritize workflow efficiently.
- Upsell additional services or repairs when appropriate to enhance customer value while maintaining integrity.
- Manage client communication throughout the repair process, providing updates and answering questions promptly.
- Handle cash transactions or payments related to estimates or repairs as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in auto estimating software, collision repair, or automotive service management.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience as a mechanic or service technician is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics, transmissions, suspension systems, tire services, shocks & struts, brake repair, and oil changes.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and insurance representatives.
- Demonstrated ability to upsell services confidently while maintaining ethical standards.
- Dealership experience or background in auto service writing is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately when required.
