The ideal candidate will bring hands-on knowledge of CNC machining and job-shop manufacturing along with the leadership ability to develop teams, improve operational performance, control costs, and consistently meet customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop production schedules and balance capacity, labor, machine availability, setups, and customer priorities.
  • Drive improvements in throughput, productivity, scrap, downtime, setup time, quality, and on-time delivery.
  • Monitor plant financial performance, including budgets, labor costs, margins, forecasting, capital expenditures, and operating variances.
  • Partner with leadership on revenue forecasts, capacity requirements, capital planning, and operational strategy.
  • Identify and execute continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.

  • Ensure appropriate preventive maintenance programs and equipment reliability initiatives are maintained.
  • Support quality systems, corrective actions, customer requirements, and controlled manufacturing documentation.
  • Develop and hold accountable supervisors, technical leaders, and production employees.
  • Partner with Human Resources on staffing, training, performance management, succession planning, and employee development.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, professional manufacturing environment.
  • Communicate plant performance, priorities, challenges, and improvement initiatives to company leadership.
  • Develop strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, employees, and other business functions.

Qualifications

  • 7 years of progressive manufacturing experience with increasing leadership responsibility.
  • Strong background in CNC machining or precision manufacturing.
  • Previous experience as a Plant Manager, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Production Manager, or similar manufacturing leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, fixtures, machine setups, routings, cycle-time reduction, and shop-floor problem solving.
  • Experience operating within a high-mix, low-volume or job-shop manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading manufacturing teams and improving operational performance.
  • Working knowledge of P&L statements, budgets, forecasting, labor costs, capital expenditures, cost drivers, and variance analysis.
  • Experience with production scheduling, capacity planning, purchasing, inventory, shipping, and job-cost management.
  • Experience utilizing an ERP or manufacturing management system; Plex experience is a plus but not required.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing quality systems, corrective actions, and customer requirements.
  • Strong continuous improvement and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to develop employees, establish accountability, and build a strong manufacturing culture.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Business, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent manufacturing experience will be considered.
