MagTech is currently seeking an experienced Manual Machinist for a full-time opportunity. This is a highly skilled machining position responsible for operating machine tools to produce and repair precision metal parts in both small batches and larger production quantities. 1st Shift – Days

• Monday – Friday
• 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
• Overtime available up to 2 additional hours per day
• No weekends

2nd Shift – Afternoons

• 3 regularly scheduled days per week, Monday – Friday
• 2:00 PM – 2:00 AM
• Three 12-hour shifts / 36 hours worked
• Paid for 40 hours
• Overtime may be available as a 4th, 8-hour day
• No weekends

The Manual Machinist will operate machine tools used to produce and repair precision metal parts in both small batches and larger production quantities.

This is a highly skilled machining position and is not an entry-level role. Candidates should have at least 3 years of hands-on manual machining experience and be comfortable independently operating manual lathes, mills, grinders, and related equipment while working from blueprints and specifications.

• Operate manual lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, and other machine tools to produce precision metal parts.
• Review electronic and written blueprints, drawings, and job specifications.
• Determine appropriate cutting, boring, and machining requirements.
• Machine steel, aluminum, titanium, plastic, silicon, and other materials.
• Determine proper feed rates, speeds, and material removal requirements.
• Select appropriate tooling and materials for each job.
• Plan the sequence of cutting, machining, and finishing operations.
• Mark and position workpieces for accurate machining.
• Monitor and control machine feed rates and speeds.
• Ensure workpieces are properly lubricated and/or cooled during machining.
• Monitor machining operations and identify potential issues through sound, vibration, and visual inspection.
• Adjust cutting speeds to compensate for harmonic vibrations.
• Monitor the accuracy and quality of cuts throughout the machining process.
• Replace dull or damaged cutting tools as needed.
• Inspect completed work against blueprints and specifications to ensure accuracy.
• Produce required quantities while maintaining quality and precision standards.
• Accurately record job start and stop times in the Job Tracking System (DATS).
• Follow all safety procedures and immediately report accidents or unsafe conditions.

• Minimum 3 years of manual machining experience required.
• Hands-on experience operating manual lathes and manual mills.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and machining specifications.
• Ability to perform precision machining and verify finished work against specifications.
• Strong understanding of feeds, speeds, tooling, and material removal.
• Ability to work independently in a skilled machining environment.
• Must comply with a drug-free workplace policy, including random screenings.
