Job Summary
The Licensed Boiler Operator for oilfield Drilling Support is responsible for the safe operation, monitoring, and maintenance of steam boiler systems used to support drilling operations in the oilfield. This role ensures reliable steam production for drilling, well services, and auxiliary field operations while maintaining strict compliance with oilfield safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies in remote and high-risk environments.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and control high-pressure steam boiler systems used for drilling and oilfield support operations
- Perform boiler start-up, shutdown, and load adjustments to meet operational demand
- Monitor steam pressure, temperature, fuel consumption, and water chemistry
- Conduct routine inspections, blowdowns, testing, and safety checks
- Maintain accurate operational logs, pressure records, and compliance documentation
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system issues; perform minor repairs in the field
- Coordinate maintenance and repairs with mechanics, electricians, and third-party service providers
- Ensure compliance with state boiler codes, oilfield safety regulations, OSHA, and company HSE policies
- Respond to alarms, abnormal conditions, and emergency situations promptly and safely
- Support drilling crews by maintaining consistent and reliable steam output
- Maintain housekeeping standards in boiler units, trailers, and surrounding work areas
- Participate in safety meetings, job safety analyses (JSAs), and required training
Required Qualifications
- Valid Steam Boiler Operator License (appropriate class for high-pressure boilers)
- High school diploma or GED
- Demonstrated experience operating steam boilers in oilfield, industrial, or drilling support environments
- Strong knowledge of high-pressure steam systems, burners, controls, and safety devices
- Understanding of oilfield safety practices and hazard awareness
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and safety documentation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting drilling rigs, well servicing, or thermal operations
- Familiarity with mobile boiler units and trailer-mounted systems
- Knowledge of diesel, natural gas, or dual-fuel boiler systems
- H2S Awareness, First Aid/CPR, and oilfield safety certifications
- Experience working rotational schedules and remote field locations
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to work in remote oilfield environments and extreme weather conditions

- Comfortable working around high-pressure systems, heat, noise, and heavy equipment
- Willingness to work extended shifts, rotations, nights, weekends, and holidays
