Position Overview
The Assistant Manager supports the daily operations of Mags & Moose Pet Resort, ensuring exceptional care for pets, outstanding customer service for pet parents, and a positive, productive environment for staff. This role serves as a leader on the floor, bridging communication between management and team members, and stepping into a decision-making role when the General Manager is unavailable.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Pet Care
· Oversee the smooth operation of daycare, boarding, and grooming services.
· Ensure pets are safe, comfortable, and engaged through proper handling, enrichment, and rotation schedules.
· Monitor facility cleanliness, safety protocols, and equipment upkeep.
· Assist in scheduling, shift coverage, and workflow management across all areas (kennels, playrooms, grooming, lobby, etc.).
Team Leadership
· Train, coach, and mentor team members to deliver excellent pet care and customer service.
· Lead by example, reinforcing company policies and culture of kindness, accountability, and professionalism.
· Act as the shift lead—delegating tasks, solving problems, and keeping morale high.
· Provide performance feedback and support employee growth and retention.
Customer Service
· Greet clients warmly, answer questions, and resolve concerns in a timely and professional manner.
· Assist with client check-in/check-out processes, billing, and service add-ons.
· Support customer communication via phone, email, and software systems.
· Uphold Mags & Moose’s reputation for trust, safety, and exceptional pet care.
Administrative Support
· Assist in maintaining accurate records of pet health, attendance, and special care instructions.
· Support inventory management and supply ordering.
· Help track KPIs such as occupancy, client satisfaction, and staff performance.
· Contribute ideas for marketing, seasonal promotions, and customer appreciation initiatives.
Qualifications
· Prior experience in pet care, veterinary, hospitality, or management strongly preferred.
· Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
· Ability to remain calm and make decisions in high-energy or emergency situations.
· Comfortable handling dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments.
· Computer literacy (scheduling, POS, email, pet management software).
· Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, and peak seasons.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to lift 50 lbs and be on your feet for extended periods.
· Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
· Active role requires bending, lifting, cleaning, and hands-on pet handling.

Pay: From $12.50 per hour
