$2,500 SIGN-ON and RETENTION BONUS
The LPN is responsible for providing safe and effective nursing care that is consistent with Magruder policies and procedures to all patients in all clinic areas under the supervision of Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, Registered Nurses, and Clinic Operations Managers. The job description gives direction regarding job duties, physical demands, training, experience, skills, abilities needed, and tools and equipment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Rooming patients
- Triage phone calls
- Make appointments/referrals for patients to specialists
- Schedule tests for patients.
- Venipuncture (if certified)
- Perform CLIA waived lab testing in office
- Trained and proficient use in Magruder Hospital electronic medical record.
- Perform EKG’s in office.
- Administer immunizations to infants, children, and adults.
- Administer injections to patients as directed by physician.
- Assist provider in minor surgical procedures.
- Stock and re-order supplies needed for patient exam rooms, surgery rooms, and lab.
- Stock prescription drug samples in locked sample closet per hospital pharmacy guidelines.

- Maintain log in/log out for prescription drug samples.
- Pull expired prescription drug samples from the shelves in a timely manner and disposes of them properly.
- Assist pharmaceutical drug representatives in determing need for samples, obtaining physician signature.
- Schedule pharmaceutical rep meetings with providers, as requested.
- Maintain and order medications needed for clinic use.
- Maintain log for insulin samples and stocks insulin samples in refrigerator.
- Maintain eye wash stations at sinks, and document on flow sheets weekly.
- Refill routine maintenance prescriptions as directed by physician.
- Request medication refills via EMR from physician or nurse practitioner.
- Fax completed documents as directed by physician.
- Assist patients with prescription drug assistance programs.
- Attend educational meetings at the hospital.
- Complete annual online classroom training and testing.
- Attend staff meetings.
- Assist in peer interviewing.
- Work in other offices and with other physicians as needed.
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions; ensures compliance with Joint Commission and other external and internal regulatory agencies.
- Maintain the integrity of confidential patient information in accordance with HIPAA and hospital policy, including accessing, using and disclosing patient information relevant to the individual employee’s job duties. Also, maintain confidentiality of other customer and hospital business information.
- Adhere to the standards of Magruder Hospital’s corporate compliance policies and seek guidance and training when necessary to resolve questions about the policies. Report violations in accordance with corporate compliance and organizational standards.

- Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

- High School Diploma or GED equivalent with current LPN licensure in the State of Ohio from an accredited school of nursing.
- Skill in reading and following written and oral medical orders.
- Skill in initiating appropriate emergency procedures.
- Skill in handling a number of tasks simultaneously.
- Skill in administering injections and vaccines.
- Ability to use manual dexterity to perform medical treatments.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and diverse patient populations.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug dosages.
- Minimum 1 year of LPN experience
Preferred:
- Ability to perform blood draws.
Certifications and Licenses Requirements:
- Current LPN licensure in the State of Ohio
- Current BLS certification
- BLS certification is required upon hire. All certifications required in this job description must be maintained by the employee throughout their employment.
