Magoo & Associates, LLC is a growing Managed IT Services Provider serving businesses and municipal organizations throughout central Illinois, Indiana, and Eastern Missouri. We are seeking a Tier I Information Technology Technician to join our Effingham, Illinois office and support our managed clients. This position is in-office and at partner locations. 

Job Description 

The Information Technology Technician will provide a wide array of day-to-day technical support for end users, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and perform on-site service visits at partner locations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on IT work, customer interaction, daily travel and working in a fast-paced MSP environment. 

Tier I technicians provide fast, courteous, and concise service to ensure high levels of first call resolutions and seek to proactively prevent repeat issue occurrences. Tier I technicians are expected to work on-site (in Effingham office and partner locations) to facilitate services from Tier II and Tier II technicians. This position is ideal for rapid learning and advancement. 

Responsibilities 

• Provide Tier 1 technical support to managed service clients 
• Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals 
• Support Windows server and workstation operating systems 
• Assist with user accounts, email, MFA, and basic licensing 
• Support a wide array of SaaS applications 
• Enforce Cyber Security Controls 
• Perform on-site service visits at client locations 
• Install and configure workstations, network equipment, and VoIP phones 
• Document support tickets and resolutions 
• On-Call rotation for holidays and weekends (once every 5 weeks) 
• Strict adherence to Policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and guides 
• Follow company security and documentation standards 

Requirements 

• Working knowledge of Windows operating systems 
• Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills 
• Ability to communicate clearly with non-technical users 
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally (company vehicle provided) 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Previous Information Technology experience 
• Microsoft 365, Active Directory, or basic networking experience 
• VoIP, firewall, or endpoint security exposure 
• IT certifications (CompTIA A , Network , Microsoft, etc.) 
• Willingness to participate in fast paced training programs 

Job Details 

• Job Type: Full-time 
• Location: Effingham, IL (office-based with travel to client sites) 
• Schedule: Monday–Friday 

Compensation:

• Pay: $46,472 - $55,966 per year
