Mago Construction Company is a family-owned and operated construction contractor and materials producer based out of Bardstown, KY with site grading, asphalt paving, road and utility construction operations throughout the state of Kentucky.
Job Overview
We seek to add a Estimator to our team. In this role, you will play a key part in the success of our projects by supporting preconstruction and project execution efforts, including:
- Preparing accurate takeoffs and competitive cost estimates
- Assisting with project setup for awarded contracts
- Reviewing plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Coordinating resources to support efficient project delivery
- Ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and company standards
- Supporting project teams to deliver work on time and within budget
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or relevant hands-on experience in construction or estimating
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with teams, clients, and field personnel
- Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents
- High level of attention to detail and organization
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel required)
- Strong math and analytical skills (areas, volumes, tonnage, conversions, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications / Skills
- Experience in asphalt paving, grading, or sitework
- Associate's/Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- Experience with Bluebeam, CAD, or estimating software
- Knowledge of surveying and project layout
