About the Position
- Title: Senior Finishing / Deburring Operator (Level III)
- Location: Magnus Precision Manufacturing | 1912 Route 96, Phelps, NY 14532
- Type: Full-time (40 hours)
- Schedule: A Shift, Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Pay Range: Hourly rate $22.00 - $26.00 based on experience
- Collaboration: Does not manage others, will report to the team lead, and regularly collaborates with team members including machinists and quality.
- Position Summary/Duties: The senior finishing operator is responsible for performing tasks at a high level within the department to ensure quality parts for our customers.
- Proficiently finishes machined parts to ensure they meet quality and specification standards.
- Removes burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections from metal parts to ensure a smooth and polished finish.
- Prepares surfaces through cleaning, polishing or application of surface treatments as required.
- Performs assembly as required following prints and procedures
- Visually inspects parts to ensure compliance with prints, drawings and quality standards.
- Completes regular cleaning and maintenance to keep the department, tools, machines and work area in optimal condition.
- Assists the team leader in department training, scheduling and new job setup.
- Regularly uses hand tools, power tools, grinders, tumblers, equipment, microscopes and other magnification tools.
- All finishers work with a variety of parts, tools, and tolerances to meet high standards, adhere to quality procedures and company policies, maintain accurate records, keep the work area clean and perform other duties as directed.
- You must have... Experience finishing/deburring parts, a high focus on quality with strong attention to detail, experience reading drawings/blueprints, and be familiar with quality standards and procedures.
- Also required: Superior dexterity and eye/hand coordination, ability to perform visual inspections, use hand tools and equipment, work under microscopes for long periods and sit/stand for long periods of time.
- You could also have... Experience with deburring metal parts, working with high tolerances, the ability to or experience training others, and a general understanding of 5S, ISO, AS9100 and/or ITAR procedures.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- All candidates should be motivated, reliable, accountable and a good team player with a desire to learn.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S., and able to pass pre-employment (drug screen, fit-for-duty exam, and background check).
