The Dispatcher will work closely with driver managers, customer service teams, operations, and Magnum Logistics to optimize profitability and ensure smooth execution of daily transportation activities.

The Dispatcher will work closely with driver managers, customer service teams, operations, and Magnum Logistics to optimize profitability and ensure smooth execution of daily transportation activities.
Driver Utilization and Load Assignment
- Assign loads to drivers in a way that maximizes driver utilization and minimizes downtime while increasing operational efficiency.
- Monitor driver hours of service (HOS) and ensure that load assignments are compliant with regulatory requirements while maximizing the use of available driver hours.
- Collaborate with driver managers to optimize driver schedules and capacity, ensuring that fleet utilization is at peak efficiency.
- Ensure that drivers are kept informed of any changes in load assignments or delivery schedules and provide support as needed to maintain smooth operations.
- Prioritize driver home time and/or special requests to ensure a positive work/life balance for the driving fleet.
Network Profitability
- Work with the operations team to manage network profitability, ensuring that load assignments contribute to cost efficiency and revenue goals.
- Analyze operational data and adjust driver assignments to improve profitability, reduce empty miles, and minimize operational costs.
- Collaborate with customer service and account management teams to ensure that profitable loads are prioritized, and any underperforming routes are identified and addressed.
Collaboration with Internal Teams
- Communicate with driver managers to align load assignments with driver performance and preferences, ensuring drivers are effectively utilized and satisfied.
- Provide nimble solutions to issues that arise from a customer, load, driver, or network constraint.
- Partner with customer service and account management teams to ensure that customer expectations regarding delivery times, special requests, and overall service quality are consistently met.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to driver utilization, on-time delivery, and network profitability.
- Manage and track trailer assets as they apply to drop yards and utilization.
- Analyze data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improving operational efficiency, driver productivity, and cost effectiveness.
- Provide regular reports to management on performance, load profitability, and overall efficiency.

Job Requirements:

- A strong understanding of driver utilization, hours of service (HOS), and compliance regulations.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to optimize operations for profitability and efficiency, using data to make informed decision.
- Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS) and related technology platforms.
