What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Engineer position at Magnum Magnetics Corporation?
Nature of Work:
The Quality Engineer works closely with Production and Product Development teams to implement quality plans for new products and manufacturing processes. This position is responsible for identifying the root cause of quality issues and leading teams to implement mistake-proofing devices in production to prevent future errors. This position is also responsible for maintaining ISO initiatives and compliance, in addition to providing technical support to Customer Service and Sales. Some experience in tapes / films manufacturing is preferred.
Examples of Work:
· Develop testing plans and strategies for qualification of new or alternate raw materials.
· Develop testing plans and strategies for new and current products.
· Conduct performance testing of new products and raw materials versus targets.
· Maintain testing records for internal testing and product safety testing.
· Stay up to speed with the latest technologies in product testing equipment and technology.
· Serve as the lead technical/quality contact for customers.
· Develop best practice and standard work for all activities.
· Support product development activities to ensure that designs adhere to performance
and product safety requirements and meet quality standards.
· Maintain calibration and records for test equipment.
· Utilize Magnum Tollgate process to lead the design and implementation of Quality
improvements.
· Perform project justification, including savings and benefit analysis and return on investment.
· Conduct supplier audits.
· Lead projects to implement mistake-proofing concepts and in-process quality checks on
manufacturing processes to prevent defects.
· Conduct root cause analysis/5-Why & 8D analysis.
· Lead or support the resolution of supplier related product quality issues.
· Support the development of new products and product improvements.
· Participates in, leads and facilitates kaizen events in all areas of the business.
· Maintain ISO certification and follow-up through auditing efforts.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Knowledge of the ISO certification process preferred.
· Ability to effectively communicate with others in writing and verbally.
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical drawings and engineering specifications.
· Ability to present information to groups of employees throughout the organization.
· Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
· Knowledge of automotive quality systems preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:
Training:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Systems or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
Two (2) years' experience in a continuous process environment utilizing quality systems; tapes/films manufacturing experience is preferred.
