What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Account Specialist position at Magnum LTD (ND)?
Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM
The primary function of the Logistics Account Specialist is to procure carrier capacity for freight and negotiate freight rates with other companies.
Job Responsibilities:
- Contact new carrier leads and develop a dependable resource to move freight daily/weekly/monthly.
- Assign and negotiate rates for maximum profit of contractual carrier capacity.
- Diversify customer base to secure carrier capacity to move freight in desired lanes.
- Track freight and provide information to carriers tracing software.
- Provide carriers with proper load information to ensure successful pickup and delivery of freight.
- Profile all carriers, confirm active accounts, ensure accuracy of profiles, and make updates as needed.
- Assign freight to available carriers.
- Utilize and develop a systematic way of communicating with the fleet to ensure efficient utilization of equipment.
- Communicate regularly with the Logistics team members and assigned carriers.

Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience with Truckmate (TMS) software is preferred.
