Located on a serene 32-acre property in Waverly, TN, GRIT provides a structured environment to address the unique mental health challenges faced by Firefighters, Law Enforcement, Paramedics, EMTs, Military personnel, Dispatchers, Correctional Officers, and Retired First Responders and Military. Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Therapist role based in Waverly, TN. The Therapist will provide direct therapeutic services to First Responders as part of the GRIT program, including individual counseling, group therapy sessions, and crisis intervention. Responsibilities will also include assessing mental health needs, developing personalized treatment plans, maintaining thorough documentation, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standard of care. The Therapist will play an essential role in fostering a supportive and impactful environment for program participants.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in delivering individual and group therapy in a clinical setting
- Experience in trauma-informed care and mental health treatment approaches
- Strong communication, assessment, and counseling skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
- Licensure as a Therapist (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent in Tennessee) is required
- Familiarity with the unique challenges of First Responders is a plus
- Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field is required
- Compassionate, empathetic, and dedicated to supporting individuals in their recovery journey
