TITLE: Assistant Director of Nursing
REPORTS TO: Director of Nursing
Non-Exempt
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The primary purpose of the position is to assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, developing and directing the day-to-day operation of the Nursing Service Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern the facility.
ROLE and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Director of Nursing in assuring that resident care is properly provided.
- Make frequent rounds on units to oversee resident care.
- Assist in the chart audit process as needed.
- Assist the Director of Nursing in calling in extra staff as needed.
- Attend all meetings and in-services designated as mandatory.
- Assist in developing and implementing in-service training programs that relate to the Nursing Department.
KEY CHARACTERISTICS:
- Highly focused and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work with frequent interruptions.
- Excellent communication skills written and oral.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia.
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as law, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.
- Supervisory experience is a plus
- Infection preventions certification is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in restorative nursing/ long-term care nursing operations is preferred.
Salary : $71,807 - $131,345
