Part-Time Math & Language Arts Teacher

Location: Ocean County, NJ (exact location to be announced)
Pay: $30-$35 per hour (negotiable)
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, approximately 2 hours per day plus 2 paid hours per week of planning time.
About Magnolia Learning Community
Magnolia Learning Community is a small, drop-off homeschool learning community serving middle school students in grades 6 and 7. Our mission is to create a nurturing, engaging environment where students are encouraged to grow academically while developing confidence, curiosity, and independence.
With a maximum of 10–12 students, we intentionally keep class sizes small so meaningful relationships and individualized instruction can flourish. We value creativity, kindness, flexibility, and a genuine love of learning.

Responsibilities
- Teach Math and Language Arts to students in grades 6–7.
- Plan and deliver engaging daily lessons.
- Differentiate instruction to meet individual learning needs.
- Provide one-on-one support when students need additional guidance.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and encouraging classroom environment.
- Help students develop strong study habits, organization, and confidence.
- Collaborate with the Learning Community Director regarding curriculum, student progress, and classroom needs.
- Communicate professionally with families as needed regarding student progress.
- Encourage critical thinking, curiosity, and a growth mindset.
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
- Teaching certification OR comparable experience teaching children.
- Experience teaching middle school students.
- Strong knowledge of Math and Language Arts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt lessons for different learning styles.
- Organized, dependable, and self-motivated.
- Patient, encouraging, and relationship-focused.
- Passion for helping children thrive academically and personally.
