Job Summary
The Magnolia School District provides comprehensive educational programs for preschool through sixth-grade students in the western portion of Anaheim and parts of Stanton. The position of Substitute Teacher works on an call/as needed basis while school is in session. Work as a Substitute Teacher is not guaranteed. DEFINITION Under the direction of site Principal and or Designee, will provide classroom instruction and basic supervision of children. Creates a flexible elementary-grade program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth for all students; establishes effective rapport with students; motivates students to develop skills, behavior, and knowledge needed to build a solid foundation for secondary grade-level education and career and college readiness in accordance with each student’s ability. Performs other related work as necessary or required.
Requirements / Qualifications
To apply for the position of Substitute Teacher you must meet one (1) of the minimum requirements below: -Bachelor's Degree or higher -90 semester units of course work from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university and verification of current enrollment satisfy the basic skills requirement (e.g. CBEST or CSET Writing Skills or CSU Early Assessment Program or Qualifying Score on the SAT/ACT or College Board Advanced Placement or passage of Basic Skills from Another State or Requirement by Coursework If you currently do not have a substitute permit, the Magnolia School District will assist and guide you in the application process via the Orange County Department of Education (see information on the column to the right). Please do not apply for your permit directly through the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. It is best to apply through the Orange County Department of Education.
In addition to the requirements above, you must complete the EdJoin application and upload the following documents:
- Copy of Transcript (Official transcripts will be required upon employment)
- Credential Copy (Detailed document from CTC [if applicable])
- Letter of Introduction (Addressed to: Dr. Robert Kimble)
- Letter(s) of Recommendation (Signed Letters Required - No more than 3)
- Resume
- Test Results/Materials (CBEST/BSR & MSAT/CSET & RICA [if applicable] )
