Job Overview
Magnolia Bakery - Salt Lake City is looking to hire a Head Baker for our very first franchise location. The iconic New York City based bakery has chosen Salt Lake City as their first franchise destination. We are looking to hire a dedicated Head Baker to help bring the magic and joy of Magnolia Bakery products, like the famed Banana Pudding and more here to Salt Lake City.
Join our dynamic team as Head Baker/Pastry Chef, where your creativity and culinary expertise will shine! In this role, you will be responsible for crafting exquisite pastries and desserts, ensuring that every creation is not only delicious but also visually stunning. You will play a vital role in our food production process, from preparation to presentation, while providing exceptional customer service. What you’ll do
- Responsible for production planning and execution of all core and seasonal bakery items
- Certified trainer in all areas of BOH to include bakers, cake icers, prep and porters.
- Maintains adherence to Magnolia's proprietary recipes and presentation standards
- Manages baking staff, equipment, and kitchen cleanliness
- Works closely with GM to ensure product quality and consistency
- Create and decorate a variety of cakes and pastries that delight our customers.
- Prepare ingredients and execute food production processes with precision and care.
- Ensure all food handling practices meet safety standards to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Package finished products attractively to enhance customer appeal.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain efficient kitchen operations.
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with patrons and addressing their needs.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and assist in ordering when necessary.
Basic qualifications
- Proven experience in pastry preparation and baking techniques.
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of food safety regulations.
Preferred qualifications
- Previous experience in the food industry or culinary environment.
- Background in catering or restaurant settings is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with cake decorating techniques and creative presentation skills.
- Excellent communication skills for effective customer interaction.
