This role provides privacy support across Airbnb’s Guest Experience, Marketing, and related consumer-facing initiatives. Working in partnership with the Senior Privacy Manager, this role supports Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), privacy reviews, and day-to-day privacy guidance while helping ensure product and business initiatives align with Airbnb’s privacy requirements. The role contributes to consistent, practical privacy guidance by partnering closely with product, marketing, engineering, legal, and research stakeholders. This role escalates novel, high-risk, or cross-functional issues requiring strategic or legal alignment.
● Supports day-to-day privacy guidance for Guest Experience, Marketing, and related consumer-facing business functions.
● Conducts privacy reviews for assigned product features, marketing initiatives, and business projects.
● Supports Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) by gathering information, coordinating with stakeholders, and documenting privacy considerations.
● Partners with product, engineering, marketing, research, and legal teams to identify privacy risks and recommend practical mitigations.
● Assists with regulatory response fact-finding, documentation, and privacy-related operational requests within assigned areas.
● Maintains documentation for privacy engagements and supports knowledge sharing across the Privacy team.
Operating Model & Risk Management
● Identifies privacy risks within assigned workstreams and escalates novel or high-risk issues to the Senior Privacy Manager.
● Supports consistent privacy processes, documentation, and governance across assigned business functions.
● Helps maintain documentation supporting PIAs, DPIAs, LIAs, and related privacy assessments.
● Contributes to continuous improvement of privacy guidance, templates, and team resources.
Key Partner and Decision Rights
● Senior Privacy Manager— receives strategic direction, prioritization, coaching, and escalation guidance.
● Privacy Legal — partners on legal interpretation and complex privacy issues; Privacy Legal owns legal determinations.
● Guest Experience, Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Research teams — primary business partners for day-to-day privacy guidance and PIA support.
● Cross-functional stakeholders — collaborates to support privacy-by-design throughout product development and business initiatives.
Experience & Background
● 3 years of experience in privacy, compliance, legal, or a related field.
● Experience partnering with cross-functional teams in a technology or consumer-facing environment.
● Experience supporting privacy reviews, PIAs, or similar compliance processes.
Technical / Domain Knowledge
● Working knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, and consumer privacy principles.
● Familiarity with PIAs, DPIAs, LIAs, and privacy-by-design concepts.
● Understanding of privacy considerations related to product development, marketing, and user research.
Leadership & Communication
● Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate privacy requirements into practical guidance.
● Collaborative working style with the ability to build effective cross-functional relationships.
● Sound judgment in identifying when to resolve issues independently and when to escalate

Pay Rate Range: 60-$68/hr
