Location: Remote in the United States
As a key member of the Privacy User Response team, you will partner with others across the company and privacy professionals in the privacy organization:
Independently research and prepare responses to complex user complaints, investigations, and data incidents across multiple jurisdictions.
Identify gaps in privacy workflows and proactively develop scalable solutions to improve processes.
Help scale the global response program for privacy complaints, regulatory inquiries, and support leadership in setting strategic direction.
Work with legal counsel on the Enterprise Privacy Legal team to standardize the process, playbooks, response templates, response SLAs and related metrics/reporting.
Prioritize and manage multiple high-impact cases based on legal requirements and business urgency.
Build relationships and share new resources, tools, and best practices to support daily case handling and team efficiency.
Assess, address, and work with legal counsel to resolve privacy escalations and help mitigate compliance and operational challenges.
Conduct reviews to identify root causes, implement remediations, and drive continuous program improvement.
Monitor technology trends, and industry best practices, translating insights into proactive program enhancements.
Qualifications
Demonstrated conceptual knowledge of privacy theories, practices, and regulatory frameworks (including EU, US, and regional laws).
Proven ability to work independently, using existing procedures and analytical skills to solve standard and complex privacy problems.
Experience proactively identifying workflow gaps and developing actionable solutions to drive operational excellence.
Strong organizational and prioritization skills; expert at managing multiple cases and tasks, often under urgent timeframes and with cross-jurisdictional complexity.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills—able to convey technical and policy information clearly to diverse audiences and collaborate with global stakeholders.
Ability to build and nurture relationships, share knowledge, and promote best practices across teams.
Adept at coordinating key programs and processes, preparing ongoing reporting, and leading information exchanges to ensure seamless program execution.
Track record of contributing to team culture, supporting process improvements, and exemplifying Airbnb’s core values.
Advanced degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience (internships and/or work experience in privacy, legal, or technical domains).
Experience with data management, analysis, and mapping, particularly in multinational or high-growth environments.
