What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Relay Assets & Fleet Operations position at Magnifylogistics?

Reporting directly to the CEO, this role is critical to influence the unit economics of our program by improving our general asset utilization and decreasing our procurement costs.
This experienced transportation leader will cover three core areas of responsibility: a) managing our asset operations team to make sure that we are routing our trailers to shippers' facilities to service ongoing drop & hook volume b) manage the long-term procurement of trailers to ensure that our universal trailer pool is able to service the growth of our business c) Partner with our business development team to negotiate terms and agreements with asset leasing companies, manufacturers and service providers.
Day-to-day you’ll:
• Develop and scale foundational relay physical infrastructure, tools and processes
• Develop and scale transfer point physical hand-offs and processes
• Define and set maintenance processes for Relay Program's physical assets
• Define and set sustainable safety and security procedures
• Set the procurement strategy for trailer pool, including provider selection through business development
• Define, launch, and execute strategic asset initiatives
• Influence cross-functional stakeholders on goals and process design
• Cooperate with logistics sales and IT (non-asset) departments
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and standardization
• Advisory level during executive decision making in acquiring assets
• Leadership and advisory level in future relay lane maker infrastructure build-up
• Develop and enhance sustainable and antifragile relay physical asset operations
About You:
• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations research, or related field
• Experience in fleet asset procurement (trucks and trailers) within transportation industry
• Experience building & scaling large-scale strategic & cross-functional programs from scratch
• Desire to work in fast-paced, challenging start up environment
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Experience developing and managing comprehensive safety & compliance programs
• Experience with coordinating and/or leading concurrent maintenance & repairs strategy and execution

Salary : $49,900 - $63,200
