Responsibilities
Role
The Winder Operator has the qualifications and business acumen to effectively run the Winder, Prewrap and Core Cutter to meet customer specifications .
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operates Winder, Prewrap and Core Cutter
- Computer software understanding
- Splices defects, metal and contaminants from material.
- Ensures all flags have been removed from the material and turned into QA
- Ensures metal detector is validated twice a shift
- Ensures edge quality on finished rolls
- Ensures slit width is within customer specifications
- Assists threadup at the Reel or Calender during startups if time permits
- Responsible for housekeeping at Winder, Pre-wrap and Sorting table
- Informs Lab operator, Lead Operator, and Shift Leader if metal is found.
- Replenish tape, cores, blades and other supplies necessary
- Ensure tools are on the shadow board
- Other duties as assigned
- Communicate with team members as needed, including a shift hand-off with previous and oncoming operator on shift review and planning
- 1-3 years of manufacturing experience
- Knowledge and experience with GMP principles.
