BHPS has a great opportunity for an accounting clerk to join the Finance Team. They will be responsible for day-to-day claims payments and refunds processes. This role is on site, at the Westbury, NY location.
Job Responsibilities
- Record deposits daily and create cash accounts receivable records in claims billing software, ensuring that transactions are processed with 100% accuracy
- Process client refund checks using claims billing software
- Send clients fund requests daily
- Collaborate with the Posting Department in correcting/resolving any cash accounts receivable record discrepancies and/or issues
- Send tax & surcharge funding request to the clients and report to the state.
- Load bank CDs into claims billing software, monthly
- Process and reconcile 100% of bank check printing files
- Assist in the recompiling of back up/records for audit purposes.
- Serve as back up for other accounting personnel as needed
- High School diploma or GED mandatory; bachelor’s degree preferred
- Strong knowledge in Microsoft applications including Excel, Outlook and Word
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Knowledge of medical claims and customer service preferred
