Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of CNC machinery and programming, with the ability to create precise and efficient machining processes. This role is crucial in ensuring that our production meets high-quality standards while adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
Duties
- Reviews engineering drawings and or electronic data to develop most efficient approach to each assigned job.
- Models part geometry and stock as needed from engineering drawings and/or electronic data provided by team manufacturing engineers.
- Develops cutter path according to routed instructions.
- Posts processes programmed cutter path to the appropriate CNC machine.
- Provides optimum feed rates to operators for chosen tooling.
- Creates operator set-up-sheets, tool lists, and readouts and maintains files according to Magna quality standards.
- Purchases any special tooling required for the machine to complete the task.
- Packages tooling and prepare documents for Supervisors to present to the group leader.
- Graphically verifies work and spot checks G-code in order to ensure proper output.
- Assumes other responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Broad knowledge of CNC equipment and processes.
- Understanding of ANSI Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance.
- SME CmfgE, Engineering Associates Degree, or equivalent level of related experience in job shop.
- Minimum of three years experience programming with Solidworks, Autocad, Gibbs, Powermill software.
- Strong 3-dimensional visualization skills.
- Strong familiarity with the operation and coding of Fanuc, Siemens, and Heidenhain CNC controls is required
- Experienced CNC machinist with 5 years' experience is preferred
