Company Description

At Magma, I am looking to fulfill a mission of creating a powerful, adaptive mindfulness platform. The reason is that awareness and attention are becoming the most important skills we have. Knowledge is no long scares, a wealth of knowledge can be presented to us at our fingertips. Our ability to focus for extended periods of time is the issue. The proven effectiveness of mindfulness practices has been studied for two decades now and more reports continue to surface.

Stage:

 pre-seed, pre-revenue, validating, building, testing, and adapting before the next steps.

Thus far, I have bootstrapped the project to get as many screens designed as possible, have an in-progress pitch deck, completed a landing page, and an offshore design-dev team working towards getting a beta app together. I have 15 users who have agreed to be a part of the beta, and I am working one-on-one with 3 users to test out manual procedures.

Why I want this to be different:

I believe that mindfulness has drifted into this camp of performance and optimization, yet is taking the average input and assuming that every user wants the same outcome. Mindfulness is not one size fits all, some may prefer walking meditation, sitting, on their back, etc. This is why we need to be building something that can be adaptive, mindfulness journeys that guide the user through an experience, a mixture of AI-Assisted, human-designed audio journeys.

In a way, I see this as the Pelton for mindfulness. Making it a community experience via a platform, generating revenue not just from recurring subscriptions to our mindfulness system, but also IRL events that can be hosted routinely.

A bit about me:

I am a filmmaker of 10 years who has spent the last 5 years meditating. As of 2025, I sought out certification to become a teacher of the practice. I decided that in conjunction with my meditation career growth, devoting time and energy towards a product that I see a need for and I care about would be incredible.

I have done extensive research, which im happy to share, analyzing the best way to position. We are not making meditation for everyone, we are targeting certain groups to optimize their lives more than making mindfulness a target for everyone.

Role Description (you do not have to be a passionate mediator, but bonus points if you are too!)

Qualifications

• Strong Analytical Skills and proven ability to solve complex technical challenges
• Excellent Communication skills for effective collaboration with team members, partners, and stakeholders
• Expertise in conducting in-depth Research to drive innovation and stay ahead of industry trends
• Proficiency in software development, system design, and agile methodologies
• Entrepreneurial mindset, with a passion for health tech and innovation
• Experience in developing and maintaining scalable technology platforms
• Previous startup experience or leadership in a technical capacity is highly desirable

Equity: 25-40%. Four-year vest, one-year cliff, standard terms. No salary until we raise or hit revenue — I'll be transparent about that up front. The split reflects who's doing what going forward, not just what's been built so far.

Location Note:

Please note, this role does not require in-person; I am based in Cambridge, MA, but ideally, you are New England-based or NY-based so that we can meet up when needed.
