Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Daycare Assistant to support the daily care and development of young children in our early childhood education center. The ideal candidate will assist with creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children of various ages, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Duties
- Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities and lesson plans that promote learning and development.
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, naps, and outdoor activities to ensure safety at all times.
- Support children with their daily routines, including diapering, feeding, and hygiene needs.
- Help maintain a clean and organized classroom environment, including sanitizing toys and surfaces regularly.
- Observe and document children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones to inform teaching strategies.
- Foster positive behavior management techniques to encourage good social skills and cooperation among children.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's daily activities and any concerns that arise.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including first aid procedures when necessary.
Skills
- Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or similar settings.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and age-specific care techniques.
- Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively and promote positive social interactions.
- First aid certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
- Experience with special education needs or working with children with disabilities is a plus.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with children, parents, and team members.
- Classroom management skills to create a structured yet nurturing environment.
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with young children.
